“I’ve got a special announcement for @everyone directly from the Creators of NomNom to share with you. This is document contains the answers to many of the questions that people have been asking within our community, and sheds light on some of the struggles the company has experienced in its beginning stages. The team hopes that this provides the clarity that you all deserve for supporting the project the way that you have. While we will always welcome questions and discussion, please be respectful and kind to each other, and I, Game Ghost, along with the rest of the team will be happy to chat with all of you!”
TLDR: USA based printer who previously printed sports for Panini/Topps has been unable to successfully print high quality TCG style cards.
The team is pivoting to use a different printer to avoid even longer delays using this current printer.
They are hiring a new production manager to oversee the transition and new printing. Until a new printer is confirmed, there is no fulfillment ETA yet.
More news about printed products will come this weekend.

“@everyone good morning, it’s been quite a week but I feel it’s important to chime in with the recent delay announcement and give a little behind-the-scenes for context from my perspective, personally.
This is not intended as an excuse, I’m honestly just speaking directly from the heart here, ( scoff how unprofessional).
None of us here on the team feel good about pushing delivery back — that much should be obvious — but seeing what our previous printer produced, there was absolutely no way we were putting this product in your hands and calling it good. When you invest in something, pour your heart into it and open the package only to have it arrive damaged, inconsistent, and with no ability to earn a high grade, we consider that completely unacceptable. Most disappointing of all were the assurances we received that the product would be above par — only to find it far below our expectations when it arrived.
Upon reception, we were gutted. There were mere days before our first big convention and the promos we’d ordered could not be produced in time. We were pushed into rushing the promo product due to last minute pressure. At this point, we seriously had to stop, meet and consider the future of the project. We’ve got such a great game, committed team, IP, story and art style… but our printer doesn’t seem to understand the product we want. After a long discussion, it was clear that everything hinged on finding a new printer— specifically one who had a lot of experience in TCG that we could trust to work confidently and quickly.
Luckily, with the past 9 months of NomNom community activity, we’ve met some very experienced help and brought them onboard to clear the way forward. In short, it’s working.
About a month back, frankly, each new day brought new issues with a kind of 2 steps forward, 3 steps back scenario that was starting to feel like we’d never have the product we wanted, no matter how many meetings we called with the printer.
Now— we’re on the other side of the transition, I can honestly say that we are getting good news every day and in solid comms with the new facility.
Everything from top to bottom is smoother and faster, without unexpected issues or miscommunications. We will have a firm delivery date as soon as they finish processing the set specifications and, moving forward, not only will the product quality finally meet our expectations, it will also be priced more affordably (more on that soon). We’ve already seen their final products and they are beautiful, consistent and with high gradability trading cards.
As for the products we already have; starter decks, pins and spookala promos — we will be giving many of these away to the community as a thank you for supporting us through this final key change. Stay tuned.
finally, I just want to thank you all for being here — for supporting the project and for giving us a chance. At our core, we are about making a fantastic game, period. We are a small group of passionate nerds, everyone wears multiple hats and basically lives “on call” for the project but that’s the way we want it because together we’ve made a game unlike anything you’ve played. If you could’ve seen the look in the eyes of first time Explorers walking away from their first game at Spookala — you’d know what I mean.
